The Darebin Basketball Association’s junior championship teams play in the Victorian Junior Basketball League (VJBL), a competition offering keen junior basketballers the opportunity to participate at a more competitive level than that offered in local domestic competitions.
Each week more than 1200 teams from more than 50 associations participate in the VJBL, which is held on Friday evenings.
The VJBL is arguably the largest competition of its kind, offering a graduated system of junior basketball competition providing opportunities for players to reach their peak, but also to climb the foothills.
There are 3 tiers of competition:
- Victorian Junior Championship League (highest level of competition)
- Victorian Junior Leagues 1 through 4
- Regional Competition – Eastern and North West
The age groups in the VJBL span under 12 to under 20.
